Terms of Service

Last updated: July 2, 2026

These terms govern your use of Toolport, the local MCP gateway and desktop app, and the hosted Toolport Teams service, operated by South Forge AI ("we", "us"). By downloading, installing, or using Toolport, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use it.

1. The service

Toolport is a local-first gateway that lets your AI clients share one configured set of MCP servers. The desktop app and the conduit-gateway binary are free and open source under the MIT license. Toolport Teams is an additional hosted (and self-hostable) service for coordinating a shared server set across a team; it is offered under its own license and the paid terms below.

2. Eligibility and accounts

You must be able to form a binding contract to use the service. For hosted Teams you're responsible for your account, for keeping your login and any credentials secure, and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly at support@toolport.app if you suspect unauthorized access.

3. Acceptable use

Don't use Toolport to break the law, infringe others' rights, or attack, overload, reverse-engineer for circumvention, or disrupt the hosted service or its infrastructure. Don't resell or misrepresent the service. We may suspend accounts that do.

4. Third-party MCP servers and content

Toolport connects to whatever MCP servers you choose to add, using credentials you supply. Those servers, and the tools and data they expose, are controlled by third parties and by you, not by us. You're responsible for your use of them and for complying with their terms. Toolport's security features (tool-integrity checks, content-defense flagging) are detection aids provided in good faith, not a guarantee against malicious or faulty third-party behavior. Only connect servers you trust.

5. Billing (Toolport Teams)

6. Your data and intellectual property

You keep ownership of your data and your configurations. As described in our Privacy Policy, your MCP server secrets stay in your OS keychain and are never sent to us; hosted Teams stores only your account, team, and secrets-stripped configuration. We keep all rights to the Toolport software and brand, except the app and gateway code released under MIT, which is governed by that license.

7. Disclaimer of warranties

Toolport is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We don't warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure against every threat.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, or goodwill. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or USD 100.

9. Termination

You may stop using Toolport at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or to protect the service. The MIT-licensed app and gateway remain yours to use under that license regardless.

10. Changes

We may update these terms; we'll revise the date above and, for material changes to the hosted service, notify you where appropriate. Continued use after changes means you accept them.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which South Forge AI is established, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes will be brought in the courts of that jurisdiction.
